Solar thermal collectors use the power of the sun to provide heat for space
heating and hot water -- for free, reliably, and without an environmental
impact.
The heart of flat-plate and evacuated-tube collectors is the absorber.
It takes up the energy in sunlight and converts it into heat. The more efficient
the absorber, the greater the collector's output.
Absorber
With its highly selective blue TiNOX energy absorbers, Almeco sets industry
standards.
These products absorb 95% of incident sunlight.
At the same time, they only lose some 4% of heat radiation, so that around 90%
of the solar energy can be used as heat.
TINOX ENERGY Cu
TiNOX energy Cu is a highly selective blue absorber with a copper substrate.
Copper is an outstanding heat conductor, so energy loss during heat transfer to the heating circuit is kept very
low.
Copper is also extremely corrosion-resistant and very easy to process. It can be completely recycled, so it's
considered very environmentally friendly.
TiNOX energy Cu is a combination of several metal and ceramic layers that guarantees optimal absorption and emission
figures.
A high-purity copper substrate with good reflection in the infrared and good thermal conductivity serves as carrier
material.
An adhesion layer is followed by a diffusion barrier that prevents metal atoms from migrating into the absorber
layer under temperature stress and changing its optical characteristics.
Next comes the absorber layer, which has a multilayer cermet structure.
An anti-reflective and protective layer made of quartz glass is applied to it.
This material is very hard and thus scratchproof, splendidly protecting the absorber against damage during
manufacture.
Absorption of solar radiation is further optimized by the minimization of surface reflection.
